Merge PDF

Add two or more PDF files and download them as one document. Files are joined in the order you add them. The merge happens in your browser, so your files stay on your device.

or drop PDFs here

How to merge PDF files

  1. Select your PDFs, or drop them on the page. You can pick several at once.
  2. Check the list. Remove a file with the X. Use Add more to include further files.
  3. Select the merge button and wait a moment.
  4. Download the merged PDF. Merge More Files starts again with a clean list.

Files are joined in the order they appear in the list, which is the order you added them. There is no drag and drop yet. Add the files in the order you want, or fix the page order afterwards with Reorder PDF.

When people use it

  • Putting a CV and certificates in one file for a job application. Add the CV first.
  • Joining scanned pages from different scans into one document.
  • Combining invoices or receipts for one expense claim.
  • Joining forms and attachments for a visa or school application.

Tips and limits

  • The merged file is about as big as the files added together. If an upload form has a size limit, use Compress PDF afterwards.
  • Password-protected PDFs cannot be merged. Unlock them first with Unlock PDF.
  • Pages are copied as they are. They are not turned into pictures, so text stays selectable and quality does not drop. Things that live outside the pages, such as bookmarks, are not guaranteed to carry over.
  • Only PDF files work here. To include a photo or a scan saved as an image, change it into a PDF first with Image to PDF.
  • Check the file names in the list before you merge. They are the easiest way to see whether the order is right, so give your files clear names first.
  • Many large files need a lot of memory. A phone may struggle where a computer does not.

Privacy: what happens to your files

Your files are joined on your device. Nothing is uploaded to DocsBee. As with any website, our host may log the page request, such as your IP address.

Frequently asked questions

Can I change the order of the files?

Files are joined in the order you add them. There is no drag and drop yet. Add them in the order you want, or fix the page order afterwards with Reorder PDF.

Is there a limit on files or file size?

DocsBee sets no fixed limit. Your browser has to hold all the files in memory, so many large files can be slow or fail, especially on a phone.

Why did the merge fail?

The usual cause is a PDF with a password, or a damaged file. Unlock the PDF first, or try the file on its own to find the one that fails.

Does merging reduce quality?

No. Pages are copied as they are, not drawn again as pictures.

Are my files uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser.
